After more than 120 years of serving cyclists, you can be confident that we treat all of our customers fairly. If you are not completely satisfied with the quality, suitability or performance of any of our products within 30 days of purchase, please contact us immediately by telephone or email and we will do the best we can to resolve any dissatisfaction.
If you wish to return an item within the 30 days period, please contact us first and we will advise you how best to return it. If the item is faulty, we will offer you a full refund or replacement.
If the item is not faulty, we will endeavour to resolve the matter to your satisfaction as quickly as possible. If an unwanted item is returned to us in an "as new and unused" condition within 30 days, and is not the result of a special order or custom assembled product that was originally arranged at your specific request, we will offer you a no quibble full refund (or alternative replacement to your satisfaction).
In any case, we will endeavour to resolve any issues amicably.
Keeping this as simple as we can and avoiding a lot of unnecessary small print and legal mumbo jumbo; fundamentally, as the retailer known as Townsends of Cambridge - we warrant that on delivery to you and for 90 days afterwards, the goods you purchase from us shall conform in all material respects with the description and specification stated at the time of your purchase and be free from material defects in design, material and workmanship.
In addition, most items also carry a limited manufacturer's warranty covering a 2-year period (and some are extended beyond this.) As retailers, we will liaise with you to administer manufacturers' warranties in accordance with their respective terms. In all cases concerning any potential warranty issues, we request that you initially contact ourselves to assist you.
Outside of any respective warranty period, we will continue to endeavour to assist you to resolve any issues.
In essence; our warranty to you means that we believe all products should be designed and manufactured to a “fit for purpose standard”. This does not mean that an item cannot be bent, broken, worn out or suffer failure from poor maintenance or misuse. That said, as a family owned business, we have a general policy of not purposely seeking to make profit from the misfortune of one of our customers. To be clear, this generalised position does not mean that we will give away anything and everything that people ask for, but, more to the point that we will treat every customer in a fair, honest and decent way, as we have endeavoured to do for the past 120+ years.
